If you’re on track to pursue a career in the Air Force and now have dreams of becoming a JAG, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Educational Delay Program was designed for you. This option allows you to delay your entry into active duty to study law.

The Nurse Enlisted Commissioning program offers active duty airmen an opportunity to earn a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, which is an in-demand career in the Air Force. Students in this program remain on active duty and continue to receive an income while going to school full-time at a college or university that participates in the ROTC program.

These programs support graduate education, encourage development of research excellence in critical technological areas where research facilities and qualified researchers are lacking, train personnel to conduct high-quality research, and stimulate mutual research interests between the Air Force and institutions of higher education.

Each of these programs has two tracks, the military track and the civilian track. The military tracks include not only current military members, but also individuals who are civilians when they apply, but join one of the military services (Army, Navy, or Air Force) when they start the graduate program.

These programs offer the opportunity for three captains each to become Airmen-scholars and earn doctoral degrees in STEM or strategic studies, respectively, with the goal of building Air Force and joint leaders who can communicate and exercise critical thinking skills across enterprises.
